This position is part-time per diem. Monday – Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 3pm – 11:30pm and every other weekend; opportunities for day shifts could be available . It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 1201 Pleasant Valley Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303.
We offer 6 weeks of paid on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Greet patients
- Coordinate patient flow to reduce wait times
- Assist patients with intake processes
- Collect co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles
- Process walk-in patients and visitors
- Duties include but not limited to:
- Confirms eligibility and verifies insurance benefits.
- Ensures all necessary demographic and billing information is obtained for patients and entered in the computer system timely and accurately.
- May schedule appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
- Explains financial responsibilities for services received, payment options, and collection procedures to patients and/or parties responsible for payment.
- Counsels patients regarding insurance benefits and recommends alternative sources of payment and/or financial assistance when appropriate.
- Accepts payments and co-pays.
- Communicates effectively with insurance companies, external agencies, patients, physicians, and team members.
The pace is fast, so your ability to multi-task is essential. You should also enjoy working with people and have the communication skills necessary to build strong relationships with our customers.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 1+ years experience with Customer Service
- Ability to work part-time per diem. Monday – Friday. Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of related work experience, including data entry
- Working knowledge of medical office procedures and medical terminology
- ICD 9 or 10 and CPT coding experience
- Experience in emergency department
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Washington or Rhode Island Residents Only: The hourly range for California / Colorado / Connecticut / Hawaii / Nevada / New York / New Jersey / Washington / Rhode Island residents is $16.00 – $28.27 per hour.
