SUMMARY

To provide leadership for commercial sales and purchasing activity in the Aluminum Supply Chain SBU that supports our recycling and circular economy mission, supervise the department staff, and coach subordinates, while maintaining overall operations and improvement of the department. To manage daily operations impacting P&L, expand future business, analyze and correct problems that arise, support associates' growth, and to coordinate activities and support customer needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic development and implementation of customer facing sales activity for aluminum alloys and scrap, contract negotiations, and forecast management. Internal coordination with subsidiaries for achieving alloy sales to full capacity. Market trend analysis required by active dialogue with other market players.

  • Make purchasing plans and negotiate monthly/annual contracts for TAI aluminum scrap standalone activity, as well as 3rd party trading/conversion and support of subsidiaries/JV partnership procurement as necessary.

  • Ability to generate new business and participate in operational conversations with prospective customers/suppliers/partners to create new aluminum alloys and scrap packages to support automotive EV transitions.

  • Participate in new project planning as necessary to develop our business, including financial feasibility studies.

  • Engages and supervises other employees to optimize performance. Supports and works w/HR and upper management to maintain positive employee relationship.

  • Investigate to improve productivity. Develops work instructions, procedures, & training programs.

  • Coordinates and collaborates with other departments of the company in establishing and carrying out responsibilities (i.e., import, export, warehousing, logistics, etc. following Corporate guidelines). Ensures that the company’s established procedures are followed.

  • Effectively communicates orally and by written in a multi-cultural environment.

  • Ability to travel as necessary to accomplish the business targets.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsible for training employees, evaluating efficiency and productivity, directing or distributing work, handling employee’s complaints, determining and/or planning work. Responsible for initiating hiring, disciplining, termination, and appraisal of work of employees.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Typically a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a business field and at least 8 years experience, including management responsibilities. Experience in secondary aluminum alloys and/or aluminum scrap is ideal, along with any operational/commercial network in this area.
