What does a day in the life as a General Accounting Specialist look like?

• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP): He emphasizes the need for someone who understands how to handle complex financial situations, including multiple revenue streams, deferred revenue, and loan repayments.
• Experience with QuickBooks: Essential for managing day-to-day accounting tasks.
• Data analysis and reconciliation skills: Ability to identify and correct errors, reconcile accounts, and ensure data accuracy.
• Proficiency in Excel: Necessary for data entry, analysis, and report generation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: To identify and resolve accounting issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: To effectively communicate with the team.
• Attention to detail: Crucial for accurate and reliable financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently and proactively: Take initiative and manage their own workload effectively.
• Experience with SaaS accounting: Understanding of subscription-based revenue models and their accounting implications.
• Understand and adhere to specific data collection and entry processes.
• Conduct research and identify potential issues with financial data.
• Assist with the development and improvement of financial processes.
• Potentially provide some level of support with state tax filings.

What are the required qualifications for a General Accounting Specialist?

• 2 years BPO Finance/Accounting
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
• Data analysis and reconciliation skills
• Proficiency in Excel: Necessary for data entry, analysis, and report generation.
• Experience with SaaS accounting
• Strong understanding of accounting principles for deferred revenue and delayed revenue recognition
• Experience with Stripe as payment processor
• Experience with QuickBooks
