As we grow, we’re seeking a driven Analyst to join our team and help us accelerate our financial strategy and growth.

Job Description: As an Analyst at Sunflower Fuels, you will be a critical part of the finance team, helping to ensure the financial health of the company as we scale our operations across multiple states. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your financial acumen within a fast-paced and purpose-driven start-up. You will gain exposure to financial modeling, forecasting, reporting, and analysis, while supporting the team’s efforts to secure funding and optimize financial performance.

Key Responsibilities: • Assist in preparing financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic decision-making and business planning. • Perform financial analysis on key business initiatives and provide insights to help guide company strategy. • Support in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to management and investors. • Track financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends and areas for improvement. • Assist with cash flow analysis, monitoring capital needs, and aiding in capital raising efforts. • Collaborate with the operations team to analyze costs associated with the cultivation, harvesting, and processing of Miscanthus. • Assist in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. • Provide support in investor relations and fundraising activities, including presentations, data analysis, and communication materials.

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. • 0-2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related fields, with a strong desire to learn and grow in the role. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in financial modeling being a plus. • Familiarity with financial statements and key performance indicators (KPIs). • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, start-up environment. • Self-motivated, resourceful, and eager to take on challenges in a dynamic, mission-driven company.

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in a start-up environment or the renewable energy sector is a plus. • Familiarity with agricultural or biofuel industries is beneficial but not required.
