The department of Agricultural Sciences at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as an Instructor, Agricultural Business. The anticipated start date is August 11, 2025.
Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. This location provides opportunities for a wide range of outdoor recreation activities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaches an assortment of courses in agriculture business and marketing areas including, but not limited to: Agriculture Finance, Agriculture Marketing, Risk Management, Farm Records, and others as assigned. Activities, including recruitment, that serve the program, department, college, university and region are expected. Assists with financial analysis and review of the University Farm enterprises and conduct research with students. Aids in the development of courses and updating curriculum in the area. Helps students in research projects, serves on committees, advises undergraduate students, and meets other duties required of all faculty. Assumes recruitment activities that serve the program, department, college, university and region. Assists in financial and marketing reviews of the different agriculture enterprises at the Derrickson Agriculture Center. Work with others in the department and the Farm Manager to develop and grow additional markets that fit the educational and production goals of the program. Works with the Farm Manager to evaluate and assist with record keeping, marketing, and enterprise budgets for the Derrickson Agriculture Center and advise the Farm Manager and Department Chair of the results of these evaluations on an annual basis or more often if requested. Works with other faculty in the department to meet the needs of students in the program.
REQUIREMENTS: MS degree in Agriculture Business, Agriculture Marketing, or closely related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in teaching undergraduate classes is desired but not required.
