The Engineering Sciences department at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track position as an Assistant Professor, Construction, Civil & Geoscience Engineering and Civil Engineering Technology. The anticipated start date is August 11, 2025.

Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. This location provides opportunities for a wide range of outdoor recreation activities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Morehead State University, recognized as one of the top public universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report. We are seeking an accomplished candidate to join our faculty as a tenure-track faculty member with expertise that bridges Civil Engineering and Geosciences. Two units with diverse disciplines in physics, geology, engineering, and engineering technology are being merged into a new Department of Engineering Sciences, which will be active beginning July 1, 2024.

REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a closely related field. A strong record of research with a focus on Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, and/or Geological Engineering. A commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship. Proficiency in Geological Engineering, including relevant coursework or experience including Structural Geology, and Geotechnical Engineering. Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional licensure in Civil Engineering (PE) and/or Geology (PG). Substantial industry experience in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Geological Engineering. Success in securing external research funding. A history of interdisciplinary collaboration. Experience with online and hybrid teaching.
