Women’s Basketball at Morehead State University is accepting applications for two Staff Assistants. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2025.

Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. This location provides opportunities for a wide-range of outdoor recreation activities. Additionally, Morehead State University is relatively close to a number of larger cities including Lexington, KY, Louisville, KY, and Cincinnati, OH. RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains knowledge and rules of the NCAA in all aspects as it relates to this position. Arranges team and staff travel. Keeps accurate and up-to-date records of players in database by position and team. Coordinates in-season conditioning sessions with players and coaches. Assists in components of summer camps. Assists in providing guidance and supervision in study hall and academic counseling sessions. Assists in practices and game planning. Assists with equipment issues, upkeep and maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree. Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance issues concerning the administration of intercollegiate athletics.

The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking storyteller who can act as the lead for our Women’s basketball creative content through video and photograph storytelling across all social media platforms. Build impactful content and will collaborate with the head coach to align creative content execution with the values and direction of the program. Passionate about women’s sports, thrive in a fast-paced environment, great at being a part of a team and know how to turn strategy into standout content.

Organizational Relationships
This position reports directly to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach with up line reporting to the Director of Athletics, Vice President for Student Success and President. Interacts with other members of the athletic staff, secretaries, student athletes, athletic trainers, sports information staff and other faculty/staff members as well the general public.

In accordance with the principles of NCAA rules compliance, it is understood that any employee who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment. If, for any reason, including but not limited to resignation, reassignment, death, disability, or involuntary termination of the head coach, this employment relationship automatically terminates within forty-five days of the date of the change in the status of the head coach. Visible program under constant scrutiny of students, faculty, staff, community, media, and alumni. Considerable travel and frequent night and weekend hours involved.
