The department of Health, Kinesiology, Imaging & Psychological Sciences at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track position as an Assistant Professor, Psychology. The anticipated start date is August 11, 2025, OR January 5, 2026.
Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. This location provides opportunities for a wide range of outdoor recreation activities. Psychology programs include an undergraduate program in psychology, an undergraduate program in neuroscience, and an MPCAC-accredited master’s program in clinical psychology.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include teaching courses in one’s areas of competency, developing a research program involving students, and participating in service activities. The typical teaching load is 4 classes (12 credit hours) in the fall semester and 4 classes (12 credit hours) in the spring semester.
REQUIREMENTS: A doctorate or an ABD in psychology or in one’s area of specialization is required by the start date of employment. The doctorate must be a PhD. If the area of specialization is clinical or counseling, the PhD must be from an APA or PCSAS accredited clinical or counseling program. An individual who is ABD would be expected to complete the doctorate within six months of the start date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The area of specialization is open. However, applicants with a specialization in one or more of the following areas will be given preference: developmental psychology, behavioral neuroscience, cognitive psychology, social psychology, and clinical or counseling psychology.
