The department of Engineering Sciences in the College of Science and Engineering at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track position as an Assistant Professor, Systems Engineering. The Department offers Bachelor of Science programs in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Space Systems Engineering, Physics, Geosciences, Technology Management, Engineering Technology, Master of Space Systems Engineering, and Master of Science in Engineering and Technology Management. The anticipated start date is August 11, 2025.

Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. This location provides opportunities for a wide range of outdoor recreation activities. RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidate is expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Systems Thinking and Modeling, Systems Design and Architecture, Systems Analysis and Decision-Making, and Systems Engineering Management. The candidate is expected to be proficient in teaching in a variety of formats and environments, conduct scholarly research, advise students, participate in departmental and university service; and develop engineering-related courses and laboratories.
REQUIREMENTS: Doctorate in Systems Engineering, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. Industrial Systems Engineering, or closely related engineering disciplines. Excellent teaching skills and proficiency in oral and written communication are required. ABDs may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience in a higher education, industrial experience and/or professional licenses/certifications and experience in teaching courses via distance learning technology desired. The ability to publish in scholarly journals and seek funding, either for research or laboratory/curriculum development, will be expected of the successful candidates. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in professional development, research, and outreach activities at the local, national, and international levels.
