Advertisement Wording | The Camden Carroll Library at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Library Associate (Technical Services: Cataloging). The anticipated start date is August 16, 2025. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Library Associate (Technical Services: Cataloging) provides information services through a variety of technical and administrative functions including acquisition and cataloging of materials, reference and research assistance, creation and maintenance of databases, supervision and training of student personnel, and the maintenance of and assistance with the use of computers and other equipment. The position will perform duties essential to support the efficient operation of the Morehead State University Library, following protocols, policies, and procedures for one or more assigned units. Contributes to the unit’s efficiency and effectiveness through personal productivity, persistent teamwork, professional conduct, and a positive attitude. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience or other relevant experience. Requires advanced knowledge of and training in the Integrated Library System (ILS), specifically in the Resource Management module. Keyboarding skills and the ability to operate a PC. Proficiency in word processing applications. Good communication skills, written and oral. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous library experience, preferably in library technical services. Familiarity with bibliographic records in an online library system. Knowledge of working tools, records, and processing techniques. Experience with database maintenance. Ability to work under pressure. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to evolving technology, and complete detailed work accurately. Ability to work and interact positively. Working Conditions | Position may require regularly scheduled early morning, late evening, and/or weekend hours. Flexibility in scheduling to meet unit needs is required.
