Advertisement Wording | The Camden Carroll Library at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Library Business Manager. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2025. Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Library Business Manager provides information services through a variety of technical and administrative functions including acquisition and cataloging of materials, reference and research assistance, creation and maintenance of databases, supervision and training of student personnel, and the maintenance of and assistance with the use of computers and other equipment. The Library Business Manager uses judgment and decision-making skills in coordinating administrative activities, providing personnel services for Library staff, producing statistical and other written reports, and managing the library budgets. As the senior member of the Dean Office staff, the Library Business Manager assists in hiring and training new office staff, and in coordinating office assignments. The incumbent performs duties essential to support the efficient operation of the Morehead State University Library, following protocols, policies, and procedures for one or more assigned units. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or in a related field with a Business minor. Completed course work in bookkeeping/accounting. Experience with Word, Excel, and Access. Ability to work under pressure. Communication skills and ability to interact positively. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous library experience or demonstrated interest in library work. Knowledge of books and serial publications. Experience with an automated library system. Ability to interact positively. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to evolving technology, and complete detailed work accurately. Ability to handle interruptions gracefully.
