The anticipated start date is August 11, 2025. RESPONSIBILITIES: Morehead State University, recognized as one of the top public universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report, is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track position as Assistant Professor. The person in this position will teach classes in our Veterinary Technology program focused on large animal care and surgery. They will also assist in advising students in the Veterinary Science (Pre-Vet) degree program. They will serve as the veterinarian of record for health care for livestock at the Derrickson Agricultural Complex (University Farm). They will assist with teaching and lab activities for other livestock-based classes as needed and when available. The Veterinary Technology Program at Morehead is ranked 13th in the nation and first in Kentucky by Best Colleges and offers both an AAS and BS degree program in this area. REQUIREMENTS: Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from AVMA accredited program required; licensed DVM. Eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and eligibility for D.E.A. controlled substance registration required. Significant large animal clinical experience required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience in a higher education environment. Graduate study beyond doctorate preferred. Evidence of instructional or teaching experience preferred.
