Scholarship Services at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Foundation Scholarship Coordinator. The anticipated start date is October 16, 2024.
Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. RESPONSIBILITIES: The position oversees the University Foundation Scholarship program, all ‘outside scholarships’ and University scholarships, such as ROTC. This position will oversee outside and foundation scholarships. This position will make independent decisions and lead group decisions regarding scholarships. This position will lead the exception & appeals committees. This position will oversee training and partnership development of scholarships. The Scholarship Coordinator position must ensure compliance with university policy and be able to effectively communicate and counsel enrolled and prospective students and their families; as well as other university offices including Accounting and Financial Services, Alumni Relations and Development, Office of University Advancement, Academic Departments and donors. This position is deeply involved in the scholarship decision making process and is responsible in maintaining compliance with state, federal and University regulations. This position requires a high level of organization and must be able to effectively communicate with university personnel. In addition, this position will utilize leadership responsibilities to assist with the scholarship exception committee and appeals committee. This position will assist with scholarship reports and a calendar of scholarship needs/ university policy development.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated experience in customer service and problem solving. Must have ability to analyze and interpret data. Financial Aid experience preferred. Experience and technical expertise with word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, integrated information systems, and associated hardware. Strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to work autonomously.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree preferred. Financial Aid, Student Services, Student Account or related background preferred.

Reports to the Assistant Director of Scholarships. The Office of Scholarship Services is a part of the Enrollment Management division . Communication with various other university personnel frequent.

Work is characterized by need for operating additional hours beyond normal workweek. Work can be pressure oriented to high degree of accountability. Team approach to managing mission of the Office of Financial Aid and Enrollment Services. Person must be self-directed in accomplishing job functions.
