The Communications & Marketing department at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Content Specialist. The anticipated start date is August 16, 2024.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Content Specialist is responsible for developing content for use on the MSU website, social media, intranet/portal, advertising, and other digital and print communications. He/she creates original content, develops source content (including text, images, photos), and completes research for content development for all of MSU’s marketing and communication channels (website, intranet, social media, radio/TV, print, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with a variety of software applications including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative suites. The ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, be attentive to detail, and maintain a high level of accuracy is required. Basic understanding of digital content and social media.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree. Experience working in marketing, advertising, or public relations. Experience in a higher education setting. Knowledge of content management systems and social media.

Organizational Relationships
The Content Specialist reports to the Web Marketing Director and works closely with other content creators and creative staff in the Office of Communications and Marketing.
Physical Requirements
Sitting or standing, talking and listening, use of computer and mouse.
Working Conditions
Routine office environment including contact with visitors, students, faculty and staff and heavy reliance on e-mail communications. Some evening and weekend hours periodically required for special events and to meet project deadlines.
