Overview

Supports the Manager CIP and Federal Regulatory Compliance in developing and administering various legal and Federal compliance programs.


Responsibilities

  • With general supervision, assist in the support the development, day-to-day administration and continuous improvement of the company’s various compliance programs, policies and procedures in assigned areas.
  • With general supervision, assist in providing consistent compliance education and training for appropriate employees on compliance regulation, policies and procedures.
  • With general supervision, interfaces with other departments, including Audit Services for audit support and the legal department to understand legal requirements.
  • With general supervision, supports various activities associated with company’s compliance programs, including conducting investigations, drafting investigation reports, preparing quarterly reports and managing any reporting requirements to appropriate regulators (such as FERC, NERC, SERC and TSA).
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree, in engineering, business, accounting, economics, IT or other related field is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. Requires ability to build relationships and facilitate discussions across various functions and lines of business.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Law degree or master’s degree in business is preferred. Prior experience in regulatory compliance, energy trading, generation dispatch, transmission dispatch, generation planning, IT or related field is preferred. Additionally, legal interpretation experience is also useful. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, handle sensitive and confidential matters, and negotiate solutions. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail will be crucial to success in this position.
