Position: Lab Technician
Isaiah House Treatment Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our team. As a Lab Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting our addiction treatment center's mission to provide compassionate and evidence-based care to those struggling with addiction.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for specimen collection, specimen processing, test performance, reporting test results; and scheduling patient testing in HER.
- Performs laboratory testing in all areas of the laboratory to include QA, QC, and toxicology.
- Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
- Follow laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
- Follow the laboratory’s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance.
- Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the general supervisor,technical supervisor, clinical consultant, or director.
- Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s establishes performance specifications.
- Performs proficiency testing and linearity testing as assigned to maintain accrediting body compliance.
- Maintains records that demonstrate that the proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Assists in keeping policy and procedure manuals up to date.
- Assists in keeping supplies at adequate levels by completing weekly departmental inventories.
- Participates in organization wide and departmental performance improvement activities.
- Strictly adhere to all Isaiah House policies and procedures.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required with 1 year of laboratory, waste handling, and sample collection experience.
- Associates degree and or MLT Certification with 1 year of waste handling, sample collection, and laboratory experience is highly advantageous.
- Excellent PC skills with database entry and management (e.g., Windows OS, MS Office Suite) required.
- Self-initiative and ability to work independently.
- Ability to prioritize, schedule and organize work.
