The Product Design Principal partners with product teams to design products that satisfy and exceed customer needs. The Product Design Principal provides strategic advice and guidance to functional team(s). Highly skilled with broad, advanced technical experience.The Product Design Principal develops product ideas and enhancements to existing products or strategic product extensions and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable product design features. Develops design briefs for new product ideas to present a clear, focused concept for strategic consideration. Works with senior executives to develop and drive segment or enterprise-wide functional strategies. Advises one or more areas, programs or functions and provides recommendations to senior executives on matters of significance. Acts as an advanced subject matter expert competent to work at very high levels in multiple knowledge and functional areas across the enterprise.

About the Role
We are seeking a bold and seasoned mobile-first design leader to join our growing digital experience team. As Principal, Mobile Experience Design, you’ll serve as a senior thought leader and hands-on expert shaping the future of Humana’s mobile app ecosystem. You will help define and execute the mobile experience strategy, working across disciplines to ensure every mobile interaction is simple, emotionally resonant, and aligned with member needs.

Key Responsibilities
Mobile Strategy Leadership: Drive the vision, roadmap, and delivery of best-in-class mobile experiences across Humana’s member-facing applications
Experience Innovation: Use design thinking and human-centered design to create accessible, intuitive, and emotionally engaging mobile experiences
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and other design leaders to deliver mobile-first solutions at scale
Mentorship & Design Excellence: Coach and mentor designers, helping elevate craft and foster a culture of design quality, equity, and innovation
Data-Informed Design: Leverage analytics, research, and usability insights to iterate and improve the mobile experience continuously
Inclusive Practices: Ensure mobile experiences meet the needs of diverse users, aligning with accessibility and equity principles
Required Qualifications
10+ years of UX or product design experience, with at least 5 years leading mobile-first product design
Proven success designing and delivering consumer-grade mobile applications at scale
Strong portfolio showcasing mobile experiences that drive engagement and improve health, wellness, or fintech outcomes
Experience working within design systems and using platform-native capabilities to optimize mobile UX
Excellent communicator and influencer, with a track record of aligning cross-functional stakeholders

Work-At-Home Information
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:
At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
