We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cloud Architect to drive the strategy, architecture, and engineering of Cloud Database Solutions on Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In this role, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud database solutions to support our enterprise data strategy across NoSQL, RDBMS, and SaaS platforms, including MongoDB Atlas.
Responsibilities
The Lead Cloud Architect performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications for cloud computing environments. Develops specifications for new IT cloud computing products and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in Database Architecture, Engineering, and Administration at scale.
- 5+ years of experience designing and deploying Cloud Native Database solutions on **Azure and GCP**.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide Sr. Cloud Database Architects, participate in Architecture reviews and set best practices for Cloud Databases.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Work with Cloud Platform Engineering, DevOps, Security and Application teams to integrate Database solutions into Cloud Architectures.
- Strong expertise in Cloud-native and managed database services, including Relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases (Document Store, Key Value, Graph).
- Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure PostgreSQL, GCP Cloud SQL, GCP Memory Store (Redis), Spanner, Neo4j, MongoDB Enterprise and Atlas.
- Experience integrating Vector Search and Vector databases with LLM applications e.g. RAG pipelines.
- Deep understanding of data replication, disaster recovery, and multi-cloud database deployment strategies.
- Solid knowledge of Database performance tuning, security best practices, and cost optimization.
- Lead Cloud Databases modernization (DBaaS) and migration initiatives across platforms.
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or CloudFormation.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices related to database deployment and management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Cloud certifications in Azure and GCP are highly desirable (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience with Devops tools like GitHub actions or Gitlab CI.
- Strong scripting and automation skills i.e. Python, PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent.
- Experience with Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for container orchestration.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
