The Strategy Advancement Advisor provides data-based strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities. Provides business intelligence and strategic planning support for business segments or the company at large. The Strategy Advancement Advisor works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.The Strategy Advancement Advisor leads initiatives to analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources. Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret, and produce recommendations and plans based on company and external data analysis. Ensures that policies and procedures align with corporate vision. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel ensuring efficient operation of the function. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
The National Medicaid Operations team serves as the guiding force to align operational intricacies with overarching strategic objectives, ensuring sustainable business growth by delivering unique value to our customers and driving scalable, efficient operational processes. As a centrally positioned strategic function this team coordinates with partners across the enterprise and within our Medicaid Markets to advance our National Operating Model and accelerate strategy execution. We deliver value by making connections across our diverse stakeholders, facilitating effective and scalable strategy planning activities, data-driven insights, structured problem solving, and project management rigor.

The Strategy Advancement Advisor will lead initiatives to advance Humana Healthy Horizons National Operating Model in pursuit of optimized value delivery and operational efficiencies. They will consult with Medicaid Segment, and Market leadership, and operational subject matter experts across the enterprise and facilitate our Strategy Planning and Execution ceremonies to drive strategic execution. The Strategy Advancement Advisor candidates will possess strong strategy planning and execution expertise and broad experience in Medicaid managed care operations. Develops comprehensive business cases for large-scale operational and organizational improvement opportunities, integrating data-driven insights, cost-benefit analysis, and strategic considerations to drive informed decision-making and facilitate impactful change initiatives.
• Collaborates with direct organizational team, shared service teams and Medicaid market leaders to develop, implement, and track strategic objectives that align with overall Pay for Care and segment strategy.
• Leads the establishment of an effective strategy planning and execution meeting cadence, ensuring regular reviews and adjustments to drive execution and maintain alignment.
• Leads cross-functional teams to drive execution of highly complex operations strategic objectives, including annual goal planning and communications management
• Provides guidance and support to teams in setting ambitious yet achievable goals that contribute to the organization's strategic objectives.
• Analyzes initiative progress, identifies obstacles, and works with teams to develop solutions for successful execution.
• Fosters a culture of accountability and transparency surrounding performance of strategic execution across all relevant stakeholders.
• Leverages executive presence and consulting experience to collaborate effectively with senior leadership, providing strategic insights and contributing to high-level decision-making processes.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of direct experience in healthcare strategy and consulting.
- 2+ years experience leading cross-functional teams to design a strategy and/or product.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Products specifically PowerPoint and virtual whiteboard platforms (Lucid, Miro, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal presenting skills with presenting to Senior leadership
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines and in ambiguous situations.
- Highly organized and analytical with a strong attention to detail
- Must be available to travel up to 20% for needs of the business
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in a Medicaid or Medicare Managed Care Organization
- Master’s Degree in Public Health or Health Administration programs.
- MBA programs with a specialization in Healthcare Management.
- Project Management and Process Improvement qualifications.
- Certified Agile Coach
