The Senior Vendor Management Professional is part of the Service Excellence team within Enterprise Associate and Business Solutions. Service Excellence plays a pivotal role in the success of the organization, and focuses on strategic outsourcing approaches, continuous improvement, and performance management, as well as innovation development and management. In addition, the team supports the broader organization with reporting, data, technology solutions and business analytics. The Enterprise Associate and Business Solutions (EABS) organization forms part of the Chief Administrative Office. EABS business areas include Workplace Solutions, Humana Safety and Security, Aviation, Human Resources Shared Solutions Guidance Center, and Human Resources Core Services.The Senior Vendor Management Professional works as liaison between vendors, Procurement, and organization. Our team builds and maintains positive relationship with vendors and monitors vendor performance. Work assignments involve moderately complex, to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions regarding technical approach for project components. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Specific responsibilities are as follows:
- Lead Request for Proposal (RFP)/Contracting process in partnership with Procurement and Operations
- Provide guidance/consultative services to EABS organization related to supplier contractual matters, issues and engagements.
- Supplier Governance Process Management - Work with operational owners to ensure appropriate supplier governance frameworks are in place and effectively operating for all supplier partners. Governance activities include:
- Contract Management and Maintenance – Track strategic contracts with key dates and manage amendment process for existing contracts
- Manage Meeting Cadence - Ensure appropriate meetings are scheduled and effective (i.e. Business Reviews, one on one discussions, leadership reviews, etc.)
- Key Performance Indicator (KPI)/ Service Level Agreement (SLA) Management - Ensure contractual KPI’s and SLAs are appropriate and meeting business needs. Ensure action plans are in place for non-compliant KPI’s. Conduct KPI audits if necessary to validate data and reporting accuracy.
- Supplier Risk Management - Manage list of critical EABS suppliers and work with Humana’s risk department to ensure all applicable supplier information and plans are effective and tracked in Humana’s risk managements system, Enterprise Solution Point.
- Manage escalation process to ensure issues are resolved at the right level of the organization.
- Lead supplier diversity initiatives and reporting
- Lead supplier savings initiatives and reporting

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience within Procurement or working directly with Suppliers
- Ability to think analytically, apply analytical techniques and to provide in-depth analysis and recommendations to management using critical thinking and sound judgment.
- Leadership experience over a large metric-intensive operational unit
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication, presentation and facilitation skills; demonstrated ability to interact with leaders and stakeholders
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- If selected for hire and you live within proximity to the Louisville, KY office. This role would be considered hybrid based on business discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree or Procurement/Supply Chain experience or experience working with suppliers.
- Certification with Six Sigma and/or the Project Management Institute
- Experience practicing agile methodology
- Strong business acumen
- Knowledge and experience working with PowerBI and SharePoint

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting.
