Become a part of our caring community and help us put health firstThe Subrogation Professional II identifies, investigates, and collects recoveries from third parties who are legally responsible for paying all or part of medical expenditures for an organization that provides health insurance. The Subrogation Professional II work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Where you Come In
The Subrogation Professional II interacts with attorneys and third-party insurance professionals to explore where there may be liability and negotiate and coordinate claim payments. Ensure Coordination of Benefits (COB) records for members who have other insurance coverage are up-to-date. Respond to subrogation inquiries regarding third-party liability policies and procedures. Career-Development position within field. Conducts tasks and assignments as directed. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications – What it takes to Succeed
Minimum of 3 years of subrogation claims experience in healthcare, property/casualty, or worker's compensation insurance
Experience in reading, understanding and applying contract provisions
Strong Microsoft Office proficiency — ability to create forms, reports, and documents in Word, Excel, and/or Power BI
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational abilities
Ability to manage multiple time sensitive tasks in a fast paced environment
Excellent ability to interact with associates at all levels of the organization
This is a remote position that will require travel of up to 5%
Knowledge of Microsoft Access
Bilingual in English and Spanish - written and verbal
Highly analytical and tech-savvy
Experience negotiating health plan medical payments

Work at Home Requirements
• To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
· At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
· Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
· Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
· Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
· Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$47,700 - $65,600 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
