Description

Senior Tax Accountant – Federal Income Tax – will assist with the preparation of company proforma federal returns for the subsidiaries included in the Humana consolidated group.

Responsibilities

The work involves the mapping of general ledger accounts to the proper legal entity and applying the permanent and temporary book-tax differences to those balances. The associate will also provide support with respect to our annual IRS examination and tax diligence and integration in connection with our acquisitions. A good working knowledge of the OneSource Income Tax program is preferred as is partnership tax preparation experience.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree: in accounting/finance preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant tax experience
• Knowledge of federal and state tax law and current developments
• Experience with computerized tax software and research programs
• Strong Excel proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant
• Master's degree in business administration or a related field
• Experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource

Additional Information

Ideally candidates will be located near a Humana office site/geographic areas in Kentucky, Georgia, Florida or Texas or reside in Boston, MA or Washington, D.C.

• Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
• Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
• Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
