Description
The Associate VP, Actuarial (General) provides actuarial support across a broad range of actuarial and business needs for specific product lines. The Associate VP, Actuarial (General) requires a in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide.#LI-Remote
Responsibilities
The Associate VP, Actuarial (General) may be responsible for any combination of valuation, pricing, analytics, forecasting, risk, compliance, and operations. Decisions are typically related to intradepartmental coordination, development and implementation of strategic plans, and business outcomes, and develops and implements strategic plans for the scope of management that are aligned with the Segment or Business strategy.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of actuarial policies and procedures for the Medicaid line of business
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, including the Medicaid P&L, finance, operations, shred services, and analytics to optimize profitability and growth as we expand our Medicaid footprint
- Support the pricing and rate setting processes for Medicaid products, ensuring compliance with local and federal products
- Utilize predictive modeling and other statistical techniques to forecast business performance and manage risk
- Represent the company in external meetings with regulators, state agencies, auditors, and other stakeholders
- Cultivates and maintains a broad network of collaborative relationships across the enterprise, allowing quick navigation to get information, guidance, or to clear the path for new initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts and their business implications to a nontechnical audience.
- Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to bridge the strategic vision with the tactical delivery and drive consensus accordingly.
- Quickly assimilates new information and grasps new concepts; strong financial acumen and knowledge of the business.
- Record of successful cross-functional collaboration on complex initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and build trusted relationships with senior and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to run a complex and multifaceted operation.

Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- 10 or more years of technical
- 8 or more years of management experience
- FSA or ASA plus relevant advanced degree, extensive work experience, and/or other relevant professional designations
- MAAA
- Demonstrated leadership capability, has led sizable staff before
- Experience in leading other human capital leaders
- Strong Communication Skills
- Experience in more than three functions (e.g., modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting & analysis, reserving or trending) and more than one product.
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting.
