Come join our team in this exciting role! The Strategy Advancement Advisor will provide strategic guidance, thought leadership, and tactical support to our senior IT leaders, and work more broadly with leaders throughout the enterprise, as they deliver transformational initiatives that address some of our most important opportunities and challenges. This person will also drive tracking and reporting against key IT strategies and initiatives to promote visibility, transparency, and accountability in program performance and to drive value delivery. Humana’s technology organization is undergoing a multi-year transformation journey to develop/scale contemporary technologies and modernize core systems while transitioning to Agile ways of working.Responsibilities
The Strategy Advancement Advisor will evaluate Humana’s technology needs and opportunities, and working with the IT organization’s senior leaders in developing and tracking short-term and long-term organizational strategies and priorities. The Advisor will work closely with the Chief Information Officer in crafting executive messages to Humana’s Management Team and the Board of Directors about our technology strategy and related programs, as well as tracking and reporting of key operational and strategic IT initiatives. This individual will also play a role in driving adoption of key IT learning, communications elements, and Agile ways of working that enable successful execution of IT strategies.
The successful candidate will be someone who has worked in strategy/operations at a top-tier consulting firm. They will have a demonstrated ability to synthesize large amounts of information into clear and concise outputs (PPT, Word, Excel). This person must be comfortable with ambiguity and able to work collaboratively with key leaders to shape the priorities and agenda for the Information Technology organization. This person also will be effective at multitasking and possess keen program and change management skills to balance an evolving set of priorities and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Using an enterprise-wide perspective, create a clear view of the IT strategy and future state, and convert strategy into initiatives while ensuring consensus and execution. Inspire others to embrace and advance the strategy as it evolves and is realized
- Significant involvement in prioritization and activation of IT-wide strategic investments
- Deliver on a wide range of short-term and long-term strategic and transformational initiatives
- Deconstruct, analyze, and document organizational problems or opportunities, create strategies/action plans to address, and drive follow-ups to promote successful execution
- Manage high-profile, high-impact strategy initiatives from developing an approach to delivering recommendations and final deliverables
- Develop high-quality analysis and deliverables that clearly frame organizational objectives, issues/challenges, and articulate compelling, insightful findings, conclusions, and recommendations
- Conduct interviews, working sessions, and report-outs with leaders across the company. Document key ideas and actions during sessions to drive follow-up actions
- Support CIO in communicating value and impact of IT initiatives to the broader Humana organization
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 2-4 years of management consulting experience with c-suite, senior executive leaders, and subject-matter experts to assess needs and drive solutions
- Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled in Microsoft suite of products (PPT, Word, Excel)
- Prior technology or digital transformation experience
- Previous health insurance, provider, or other integrated health care experience
- Interacted with large for- or non-profit organizations
- Business analytics and financial experience
- Experience with Power BI or other data analysis and visualization tools
- Master’s or other post-secondary degree
Work at Home Guidance
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
- Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
