GDIT is seeking a Supply Chain Category Manager to be responsible for developing innovative strategies for indirect and direct spend categories specifically in the software commodity area.
This position requires understanding of the software commodity category, as well as vendors like Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM, Splunk, VMWare, UiPath, etc., strong research skills; high interest in continued learnings; being well organized, proactive, and able to work with little supervision; and exceptional time management skills.
HOW A SUPPLY CHAIN CATEGORY MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Conduct detailed supply market research
- This position will be responsible for developing innovative strategies for indirect and direct Software spend categories
- Establish and leverage relationships with key strategic suppliers in the software commodity space
- Work closely with internal departments and customer-facing programs to understand, document and analyze current and forecasted technology demands
- Develop strategies for gaining the best value from current and future supply markets
- Regularly evaluate the software commodity space and adjust strategies, as appropriate, based on changing market conditions, internal demand, supplier performance, and other factors
- Ensure Category Strategies balance the various regulatory requirements imposed upon GDIT Supply Chain by its customers, including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR); the market strength of GDIT; and the realities in the various markets to maximize value obtained from each supplier.
- Solve process, supplier performance and market-disruption problems including developing solutions under tight timeframes
- Establish process and methodology for technology and architecture support for system development
- Create and manage technology strategy and roadmap to influence IT decision making; perform R&D as necessary
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ additional years of relevent work experience in lieu of a degree
● Experience: 5+ years of corporate commercial or FAR regulated supply chain experience (experience in a Fortune 500 company and Government contractor preferred).
● Location: Remote
● Performs work on contracts that require U.S. citizenship
● Experience: Strong experience with business analysis and requirements gathering techniques
● Demonstrated knowledge of full lifecycle SCM-related topic areas (including strategic sourcing, contract types, bid sheet structures, proposal analyses, and contract negotiations)
● Demonstrated cost containment experience
● Experience managing complex project and influencing persons not in one’s chain of authority
● Experience in written/oral communications at all levels of the company (including C-level / Executive)
● Demonstrated ability to work with little supervision, be proactive in problem prevention and resolution, an able to balance competing demands on one’s time.
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated understanding of FAR and its compliance requirements and audit implications on category strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in developing effective negotiating strategies.
- Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships including performing vendor performance evaluation
