GDIT has an opportunity for a Maximo (MAS) System Administrator to support a new program for our NASA business area, NCAPS, the NASA Consolidated Applications and Platform Services Program. NCAPS consolidates enterprise-wide applications and platform services across the Agency and supports the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Application Division transformation into the Application and Platform Service (APS) Line with agile based service delivery and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) based service management practices. This is a remote position.
We are seeking a self-motivated Maximo (MAS) System Administrator to join our team and manage the deployment, configuration, and ongoing administration of MAS 8.x in a production-grade OpenShift/Kubernetes environment. This role requires hands-on experience in MAS, container orchestration, and enterprise-grade system reliability practices.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain IBM Maximo Application Suite 8.x on Red Hat OpenShift.
- Manage container orchestration, load balancing, and persistent storage.
- Monitor system health using tools such as Instana, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Collaborate with Maximo developers and functional teams for environment readiness and support.
- Manage integration with enterprise authentication (LDAP, SSO).
- Patch and upgrade Maximo applications and supporting systems.
- Create system documentation, runbooks, and participate in DR testing.
- Work with security teams to harden and audit MAS environments.
Required competencies:
- 3+ years administering Maximo systems (at least 1+ year with MAS 8.x or cloud-native equivalents).
- Experience with OpenShift (or Kubernetes) in production environments.
- Strong Linux (RHEL) skills; scripting (bash, Python) is a plus.
- Familiarity with IBM Cloud Pak architecture and deployment principles.
- Experience with Db2/Oracle and backup/recovery procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
- Eight or more (8+) years of experience in information technology, software support and customer interaction
- Three (3) plus years of experience in MAS software development and/or support.
- Detail knowledge of MAS 8.x and its integration with other applications
- Ability to troubleshoot issues related to these tools and their interactions.
- Experience working within a queue-based ticketing system.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly on the job and adapt to new technologies.
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience integrating MAS with SAP, GIS, or third-party systems.
- IBM or Red Hat certifications.
- CI/CD pipeline knowledge (Jenkins, GitOps).
