HOW A SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Lead and mentor a team of software developers
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including task assignment, managing backlog of efforts and prioritizing implementation, performance management, and professional development
  • Manages the design and development of software development for new and existing computer systems
  • Creates basic documentation in work changes, revisions, or problems
  • Walk customers or training personnel through recommended problem-solving steps in use of the application
  • Attends and presents at customer and executive-level meetings
  • Manage Task Order(s) ensuring all software development tasks are complete meet schedule, and performance requirements
  • Direct project assignment, lead software projects from planning through execution and deployment
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved within scope and budget
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive software documentation, operational procedures, and policies
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree (in computer science, engineering or mathematics)
  • Required Experience:
    • 5+ years of related experience
  • Required Technical Skills:
    • Experience in Agile and Cloud software development management
  • Security Clearance Level:
    • Must be clearable for a position of Public Trust and standard background investigation check
  • Required Skills and Abilities:
    • Software system leadership roles that have an average value of $100M or greater
    • Solid technical background in software development
    • Experience in Agile and Cloud software development management
    • Strong communication skills; demonstrated ability to communicate appropriately and to raise issues to teams and senior management
    • Ability to thrive in situations of complexity and ambiguity while functioning at a high level of productivity in a fast paced and dynamic environment
    • Demonstrates ability to work independently
    • Demonstrated strength in solving complex problems
  • Preferred Experience, Skills, and/or Certifications:
    • FAA National Airspace System (NAS) experience
    • FAA Cloud Services
    • Agile certification (PMI-ACP or SAFe certification)​

The likely salary range for this position is $129,311 - $174,951. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
