Job Description:

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Test Engineer Senior supporting Federal contracts in the Technology Shared Services (TSS) group, you will be trusted to evaluate and support development of software, web, telephony, and virtual agent applications.

HOW THE TEST ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Evaluate and understand system requirements and capabilities. Analyze high-level requirements to derive test cases
  • Develop test procedures to validate and verify requirements and capabilities
  • Support test team execution to include providing input for test reviews
  • Understand of software lifecycle management skills related to application development tasks and planning testing cycles
  • Ability to apply in-depth knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle in order to help anticipate complexities in the system
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with modern web client technologies and the associated front-end to backend interactions
  • Participate in Agile software development initiatives (standup, planning, grooming, estimation) to support innovation and enhancement of applications through iteration/functionality testing
  • Engage and collaborate with team members to assess Story Point / complexity efforts (using best practices) to ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance Criteria
  • Collaborate with team members (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Software Developers) to develop test approaches with emphasis on automation of recurring/regression test cases through selected toolsets
  • Develop and document end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management system (ServiceNow Test Management /JIRA)
  • Provide early exploratory testing during the development phase
  • Design, code and deploy automated test scripts
  • Maintain test documentation, provide support to government test organization, evaluate test results, and provide feedback in a Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery Pipeline

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 5+ years of experience or equivalent years of experience
  • Experience working with Jira, Confluence and Git
  • Ability to write SQL queries
  • Familiarity with SQL DB and document databases
  • Comfortable reading and writing JSON syntax
  • Proficient with postman and creating postman test files
  • Accomplished in the different software testing methodologies
  • Experience with testing on cloud platforms
  • Conceptual knowledge on agile integration. Working as part of an agile team utilizing Scrum or Kanban
  • Comprehensive understanding of Agile & DevOps methodology and culture
  • Quality and detail focused ability to document test cases and findings
  • Documenting and executing test cases
  • Creating and maintaining test documentation
  • Working closely with developers and project managers
  • Knowledge of various SDLC methodologies
  • Capacity to test application developed with commercial-off-the-shelf products
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and stakeholders, and work independently and as part of a larger team
  • Capability to manage multiple task assignments and work in a complex, fast paced environment
  • Self-motivated, quick learner with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative team player who works well with customers and colleagues at all levels

The likely salary range for this position is $80,226 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
