Overview

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for providing clinical operations leadership, oversight, and expertise to ensure the delivery of cost effective, quality healthcare services to patients and clients.
Demonstrates extraordinary leadership and executive decision making in a high-growth, results-driven environment. Comfortable leading and working in a highly matrixed environment through clear communication and collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
Must be able to drive innovation, create alignment across the organization and deliver on the commitment of assuring the best possible care for our patients and clients with a clear eye on assuring the highest return on investment. Provides leadership and expertise in the development and execution of new product service offerings, implementation of new clients and process improvement. Responsible for the successful execution and performance of product results. Supports the clinical analytics area in defining and measuring metrics to measure and report on CareCentrix product and clinical operations performance.

Responsibilities

Will have responsibility for building trusting relationships with clients’ key stakeholders. Supports and provides expertise to the following CCX departments/areas:

Product Strategy and Development:
• Provides consultation and support for product strategy to ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical services based on clinical operations standards and outcomes.


CMO Department Leadership and Management:
• Oversees Clinical Operations department responsible for clinician and non-clinicians in the areas of utilization management and Post Acute Care which is inclusive of optimizing site-of-care, length of stay and readmission reduction.
• Oversight of the Medical Director team as well as the outsourced IRO(s) relationship to assure quality and adherence to contract terms.
• Responsible and accountable for the CMO budget forecast and actuals. Identifies opportunities to drive efficiencies in operational processes and practices.
• Works with CareCentrix leaders to effectively develop, pilot and implement new processes in support of achieving our performance targets.
• Optimizes clinical programs and services to meet contractually determined client performance guarantees.


Clinical Data Analytics:
• Responsible for performance results across our clients, and recommends and implements corrective actions.

Performance Excellence:
• Reviews all quality of care issues then identifies and supports the development and implementation of process improvements to resolve.
• Monitors performance indicators to ensure the delivery of cost-effective care within quality standards.
• Works collaboratively to develop corporate clinical care standards and policies.
• Supports process development for generating best-practice clinical guidelines for maximizing care in the home across our product portfolio.


Sales and Account Management:
• Strengthens relationships with existing and prospective clients as ambassador for CareCentrix clinical programs and products.
• Partners with CareCentrix teams to increase member and client satisfaction scores.
• Supports CareCentrix teams as they partner with clients in resolving clinical operations issues when they arise.

Qualifications

Qualifications (Required):

• MD degree from an accredited institution and unrestricted license to practice medicine in at least one state
• Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Internal Medicine, Family Practice, other primary care specialty
• 10+ years healthcare experience with increasing responsibility in health insurance industry
• Experience with utilization and case management
• Demonstrated success managing other clinicians
• Experience managing a corporate budget
• Working understanding of clinical informatics

Qualifications (Preferred)

• MBA or other management degree
• Board-Certification in an American Board of Medical Specialties-recognized specialty
• Geriatrics and/or post-acute experience
• Experience building a profitable business line through new product development and deployment
