Overview
As a Lead Analyst on our Information Technology Operations team (this is an individual contributor role - picture BSA and BI Developer roles blended into one) you will influence the next wave of intelligence reporting. You will gather requirements, design reports and dashboards on corporate technology metrics, and provide trend analysis and commentary. You will be the owner of IT metrics and KPIs to ensure there is alignment to the department’s data and reporting. Your responsibilities also include post analysis work to monitor and ensure the new tools implemented provide the proper visualization of key metrics so these are leveraged for improved decision making. Building a comprehensive understanding of business process of the associated data and applications is essential to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
In this job you will:
- Develop and enhance tracking of key metrics for the IT Department that will include project delivery, financial health, resource management and capacity utilization
- Design, create, generate and maintain metrics, reporting and trend analysis using any of the following technologies: MS SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, Python, Tableau, MS Excel, ETL processing
- Provide expertise in creating and optimizing complex SQL queries necessary to facilitate the retrieval of data from the database to fulfill metric reporting requirements
- Analyze current process standards and existing metrics in order to provide solutions for improvement, inform respective teams on process improvement and re-engineering strategies
- Collaborate with customer and key stakeholders from requirements gathering to design to implementation and monitoring ensuring all reporting metrics are clearly defined
- Discuss your analysis with all audiences and use data to illustrate your findings and support your conclusions
- Define data requirements and identify both existing and new data sources and methodologies
- Produce high-quality user interfaces and visual designs in support of the data and metrics provided
- Translate data into metrics, dashboards and management reporting packages providing analytical summary that incorporates performance against KPIs, business objectives and SLA’s
- Proactively communicate project deliverable status, issues and risks to management
- Maintain the systems/data architecture used for IT Operations metrics
This is the job for you if:
- You have experience interacting with IT leadership to deliver data reports in an understandable way
- You are highly proficient with SQL, Tableau, Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint
- You are proficient with ETL processing, SSRS/SSIS, Python, R, JavaScript or common scripting languages
- You understand the business behind the data and can be pro-active on reporting needs
- You have extensive experience reporting on IT KPI's and metrics (Required)
Qualifications
You should get in touch if:
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
- You have 5+ years’ experience in information technology including data and business analysis experience
- You have experience with data warehouse, graphical presentation of large datasets, experience and / or demonstrated ability to write queries, and perform data analytics and reporting functions
- You are able to work EST hours
