Overview

Oversees the coordination of Community Development activities within the region, provides educational outreach and events that promote healthy lifestyles, provides oversight of ongoing and annual activities, represents ARHs throughout region, networks effectively with other departments, providers, and community members, oversees the gathering and reporting of community benefit information.

Responsibilities

The Regional Community Development Manager is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring specific community health initiatives that are integrated with the organization's strategic plan for Community Development and each hospital’s Community Health Needs Assessment. These activities include organizing programs or events with the goal of developing a healthier community; classes, presentations, luncheons, awareness events, school-based programming, etc. This position works closely with staff from all ARH hospitals in the region, represents ARH on health boards and coalitions, and is often an integral part of hospital accreditation processes.

Responsible for tracking and reporting community benefit, assisting with the development of hospital Community Health Needs Assessments, creating and maintaining community partnerships, and when necessary, presenting health and wellness content to the community.

Required skills include public speaking, a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelors Degree preferred OR Associates Degree with 2+ years proven community public health experience.

Minimum Work Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years working with community partners & events preferred
  • Experience managing multiple programs
  • Experience in customer service relations
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Able to work computer programs as defined by job requirements
  • Able to communicate effectively and speak publicly
  • Knowledge of health standards and guidelines
  • Knowledge of the community
  • Ability to form and manage community coalitions and groups
  • Leadership qualities
  • Demonstrate strong competence in written, oral and electronic interpersonal skills
