Overview

The System Director of Behavioral Health – Outpatient and Consult and Liaison Services will establish and maintain effective overall organization of Outpatient and Consult and Liaison services for the Behavioral Health Service line. As the liaison between the Behavioral Health Service Line, Ambulatory and Local Hospital leadership teams, this position will be responsible for driving implementation and optimization of outpatient behavioral health services and for operationalizing and optimizing consult and liaison behavioral health services, system-wide. This position will work with local hospital, ambulatory and telemedicine leaders to identify needed services, space and technology requirements, and develop standards of care to ensure successful delivery of services. This position will develop and maintain an effective auditing process to ensure that outpatient and consult-liaison behavioral health services are achieving the organization’s triple aim goals.

Services this leader will advise on, include but are not limited to: Consult-Liaison Psychiatry Services, Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinics, Integrated Behavioral Health Programs, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PH) Programs, Addiction Medicine Programs, ARH and Local/State Corrections Partnerships and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP).

The System Director of Behavioral Health – Outpatient and Consult and Liaison Services will act as a liaison between the Behavioral Health Service Line and the Ambulatory Operations, Local Hospital and Telemedicine leadership teams. In this liaison role, this position will help work with other leaders to identify opportunities for outpatient and consult and liaison program development, work with Behavioral Health clinicians to develop those programs, and then work with the Ambulatory, Hospital and Telemedicine teams to operationalize these new initiatives. This position will also be accountable for ensuring appropriate contractual relationships with 3rd party organizations and ensure regulatory compliance within and outside ARH.

Position Specifics:
• Will support the Behavioral Health Service Line’s charter to develop and implement a cohesive Outpatient and Consult and Liaison strategy, in partnership with local and regional leadership teams, in order to meet the Behavioral Health needs of the organization’s service area.
• Will be responsible for supporting Ambulatory Leadership in standing-up new Beh. Health clinics and services, while optimizing those already in place.
• Will work with the Ambulatory Operations leadership to successfully integrate Behavioral Health services into select primary/specialty care clinics.
• Will work with Telemedicine and Hospital leadership teams to operationalize and then optimize the virtual Consult-Liaison Psychiatry services.
• Will work with Ambulatory Operations leadership and HR leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive EAP strategy for ARH employees, spouses and dependents.
• Will work with Local Hospital and Inpatient Behavioral Health leadership teams to develop and implement Intensive Outpatient and/or Partial Hospitalization programs.
• Will work with Marketing and Physician Liaison leadership teams, along-side Ambulatory Operations to conduct effective marketing strategies for outpatient operations.
• Work with the System Director of Behavioral Health – Inpatient Operations to optimize transitions of care for patients moving in-between the inpatient and outpatient care environments.
• Act as a liaison between the Behavioral Health Service line and other community outpatient behavioral health and addiction medicine organizations, to ensure smooth transitions of care between care environments.
• Advise regional ambulatory leadership to ensure all outpatient operations remain in regulatory compliance.
• Complete all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum Education
• Bachelor’s Degree Require
• Masters in Health Administration (MHA) or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is Strongly Preferred
• Ability to complete a Master’s Degree program in 36 months.

Minimum Work Experience
5+ Years of outpatient operations/leadership required.
3-5 Years of outpatient behavioral health experience is strongly preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately
Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals
Knowledge of basic medical terminology required
Basic computer knowledge is required
Ability to work independently within general guidelines
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and written
Ability to work flexible hours
Ability to work with adults experiencing mental health disturbances or dual diagnoses.
