As the Zero Waste Process Improvement Specialist, US Donations or Recycle, you will be the primary point of contact for your assigned external Recycle and Donations vendor partners. You will monitor incoming vendor disputes to process, monitor escalations or inquiries from vendors or operations sites and resolve, and develop new ways to drive Amazon to our Zero Waste Goals. You will also identify continuous improvement projects to work on to reduce costs, increase recovery, or invent and simplify our business. You will also have the opportunity to work cross-functionally across external vendors and internal operations, ACES, product, tech and finance teams. Lastly, you will be able to dive deep into data to find new opportunities to escalate roadblocks and risks to both business and external vendors.
Key job responsibilities
• Own and optimize one of the team's standard work programs (e.g., data management/queries, contracts, transportation, finance)
• Handle site transportation escalations and oversee trailer availability management to maintain smooth operations
• Serve as primary POC between sites and vendors, facilitating effective communication to find win-win solutions
• Drive process automation and standardization initiatives to improve operational efficiency
• Coordinate and oversee trial load programs to evaluate new shipping solutions and partners
• Process and track Purchase Orders (POs) and invoices
• Perform physical and GPS auditing driving compliance to vendor agreements
• Manage internal and external case tracking
• Monitor and report on revenue metrics and track commodity rates
• Handle Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) responsibilities
• Maintain accurate project tracking and status updates through Asana, ensuring timeline adherence and stakeholder communication
• Run SQL queries in Hubble to generate reports related to ship method, removals, or other inquiries
• Work closely with Product Owners, Tech, Finance, Product Safety, Legal, ACES, and Operations partners
A day in the life
You will get the opportunity to work cross-functionally with Site Operations, Finance, Product, Tech organizations. You will also get to work with external vendors, who are business-2-business (B2B) vendors of Amazon. Your work is dynamic in nature, works at scale across the network, and has both standard work and proactive projects. We have big true north goals, where you work daily on finding ways to proactively achieve them. Lastly, you will dive deep into business performance, input and defect metrics for your business to find ways to drive continuous improvement.

As a member of the US Recycle, Donations, and Zero Waste team, you will get to work in a team environment, where everyone works to support one another to achieve our goals of zero cost of returns and zero waste. While you will have your own goals and objectives, we tend to work collaboratively as necessary and have mechanisms in place to track your projects, goals and business performance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years of program or product management experience
• Analytical skills with experience using Excel (analysis using aggregate functions and pivot table)
• Good communication skills both verbal and writing (ability to communicate clear and coherent narratives)
• Highly organized ability to provide regular status updates and balancing invoicing, payment receipts, transportation requests vs execution, and compliance audits
• Ability to travel to Amazon and Vendor locations as needed (up to 65% travel)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Advanced Excel (Macros/VBA)
• Experience in MS Access and SQL
• Knowledge of visualization tools like QuickSight, Tableau etc.
• Experience in mixed material recycling or nonprofit support

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $52,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $112,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
