We are hiring an Assistant Coffee Roaster for our growing team! The Assistant Coffee Roaster at Masterpiece Cafe supports the Coffee Roaster and the entire coffee roasting process from sourcing beans to delivery. Responsibilities include roasting, packaging, and distributing coffee beans. The role also involves delivery of beans and other supplies to various ARC locations. Candidates should possess a desire to learn and a valid driver’s license. The position offers competitive compensation, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Roasting Coffee Beans:

• Assist in operating and maintaining coffee roasting equipment to achieve desired roast profiles.
• Monitoring roast profiles and making adjustments as necessary to ensure consistent quality.
• Conducting quality control checks throughout the roasting process to maintain flavor and aroma

Packaging of Whole and Ground Roasted Coffee Beans:

• Support packaging roasted coffee beans in various formats, including whole bean and ground.
• Labeling packages with accurate information regarding roast date, origin, and flavor notes.
• Ensuring packaging materials meet safety and quality standards.

Shipping and Delivering Coffee Beans:

• Coordinating internal shipping of roasted coffee beans to our coffee shops and centers.
• Delivering coffee beans and other supplies to various ARC centers and facilities.

Key Experience and Education Needed:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification
• Ability to read and interpret instructions
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Ability to problem solve
• Valid driver’s license
• Safety awareness

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to read detailed instructions
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate computer and other equipment in the office
• Must have sufficient mobility to move around the office and the community
• Maintain a respectful relationship with employees, interns and persons served/clients.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times displaying a professional disposition towards fellow staff.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc. staff and persons served/clients alike.
• Bring policy/personnel issues to supervision as they arise.
• Protect the privacy of all staff and persons served/client information in accordance with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a healthcare provider. Failure to comply with Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s policies and procedures on persons served/client privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
• Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding Addiction Recovery Care Center/Odyssey, Inc.’s policies and procedures on persons served/client privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
• Performs other welding duties assigned.
